Summary:
Responsible for assuring Social Worker (MSW) and Social Worker Aide are providing professional social work intervention to District patients and their families on inpatient and outpatient units, including Home Health and Hospice. Responsible for assuring that social worker services are in compliance with all federal and state regulations. Provides supervision to all District Social Services staff.
II. Minimum
Qualifications:
A. Education
1.Master's degree in social work from a school of social work accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.
B. Experience
1.Minimum of three years of clinical experience.
C. Licensure / Certifications / Registrations
1. Current California Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) license.
2. Current BLS Healthcare Provider certification.
3. Valid California driver's license.
D. Essential Skills
1.Possess knowledge of principles, concepts, and methodology of medical social work.
2.Possess knowledge of medical terminology, diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, loss and grief issues.
3.Possess knowledge of community resources available.
4.Possess knowledge of pertinent State, Federal and local laws, rules, regulations relating to psycho-social services required in hospital setting.
5.Ability to handle stressful situations in professional manner.
6.Ability to assess and respond to the psycho-social needs of patient and families.
7.Ability to maintain confidentiality.
8.Ability to perform intermediate arithmetical calculations accurately.
9.Ability to understand and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
10.Ability to write legibly, spell correctly, and communicate effectively in oral and written forms.
11.Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized and non-standardized situations.
12.Ability to work under pressure with time constraints.
