Job
Summary:
The Director of Patient Care Services, Home Health/Hospice and Private Duty Home Care has overall responsibility for facilitating business development, maintaining existing business, and ensuring adherence with current state, local, and federal standards and regulations through planning, implementing and maintaining effective, efficient systems and processes which integrate clinical and clerical operations.

The Director of Patient Care Services has responsibility for the coordination of patient care services and shall be responsible for all activities relevant to the patient care services furnished including the development of nursing personnel, and assignment of personnel. Plans, organizes, develops, implements and directs the patient care operations of the District's Home Health and Hospice Department in accordance with current state, local, and federal standards and regulations that govern our facility.

The Director of Patient Care Services or his or her registered nurse designee shall be available on the premises or immediately accessible by telecommunications during operating hours when patients or clients are receiving services; and shall devote a sufficient number of hours to assure the quality and adequacy of services provided and supervision of staff. Incumbent is accountable and responsible for patient care provided by having assigned nursing staff available on a 24 hours basis, resulting in continuity of patient care. Performs all duties of a Staff Nurse, as needed.

II. Minimum
Qualifications:
A. Education
1.Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with a baccalaureate degree or higher in nursing, or other health related field, and

B. Experience
1.Minimum of 3 years experience, within the last five years in a home health agency, primary care clinic, or health facility, at least one year of which was in a supervisory or administrative capacity;
OR

A. Education
1.Graduate from an accredited school of nursing, and

B. Experience
1.Minimum of 4 years experience, within the last five years in a home health agency, primary care clinic, or health facility, at least one year of which was in a supervisory or administrative capacity

C. Licensure / Certifications / Registrations
1. Valid California State Registered Nursing License
2. Current BLS Healthcare Provider certification
3. Current CA state driver's license, and proof of vehicle insurance

Essential Skills
1.Must possess knowledge and expertise in clinical decision-making for the patient/client population of the home health agency to meet the needs of his or her patients/clients, and to contribute to Quality Management review and evaluation.
2.Must possess knowledge of laws, regulations, and standards that pertain to Home Health and Hospice patient care and operations.
3.Possess leadership and supervisory ability, and the willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel.
4.Must possess the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures etc., necessary for effective and efficient operation of the departments.
5.Must have patience, tact, compassion, a cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm.
6.Must possess knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping principles and procedures.
7.Must possess strong knowledge in computer hardware and software applications.
8.Ability to maintain accurate records, and medicolegal aspects of patient medical records.
9.Ability to perform intermediate arithmetical calculations accurately.
10.Ability to understand and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
11.Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written forms.
12.Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized and non-standardized situations.
13.Ability to handle stressful situations in professional manner.
14.Ability to work under pressure with time constraints.
15.Ability to operate modern office equipment.
16.Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships contacted in the performance of their duties.
17.Ability to operate a motor vehicle, in the capacity of the position requirement to provide services in patient's homes.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
